Phil holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Forensic Science from the University of the West of England in Bristol. He is also a CFA ® Charterholder, passing all three levels in consecutive years.
Phil started his career at the Bank of England in 2008 and worked in a variety of roles during his time there. He began within banking services helping to deliver a major internal IT system related to banknote management and monitoring. He then had two different roles within the markets department, firstly monitoring credit risk that the Bank is exposed to through its regular business and other operations. Then he moved into a role involving valuation and analysing the market risk of positions on the Bank of England’s own balance sheet and the reserves it manages on behalf of HM Treasury. In 2012 he moved into the statistics department where he was responsible for analysing and publishing statistics on retail interest rates (e.g. mortgages, deposits, unsecured loans). Finally, in 2014, he moved back into the markets department as a market intelligence analyst. This involved speaking to participants across a broad range of different financial markets, analysing and synthesising these views, and delivering this market intelligence to the monetary and financial policy committees and other senior staff.
Phil joined PortfolioMetrix in 2016, bringing 8 years of financial services industry experience with him from the Bank of England.
