We’ve won another award and it feels great! This time PortfolioMetrix won Best Discretionary Manager at the Professional Adviser Awards held last week (Thursday 7 February 2019).
We were up against some big names, so winning this award in the face of the crème de la crème of the investment industry was extremely pleasing. The fact that we were voted number one is fantastic recognition for all the hard work the team at PortfolioMetrix put in to deliver top notch investment management to our adviser partners.
Differing judging methodologies
The other awards we’ve won recently have been judged in different ways and I think the fact that differing methodologies have had us taking first prize says quite a lot about the way we operate.
Previous awards have been based on statistical analysis or down to the support of our partners, The most recent Professional Adviser (PA) awards were judged and voted on by an independent panel of industry experts, made up of financial advisers, business consultants, fund researchers, platform specialists and other financial services sector experts. This allowed them to look at the facts when compared with competitors and provide a non-biased assessment.
The Citywire Wealth Manager Regional Stars (London) award that we’ve won for the past two years are voted for by our existing adviser partners and they recognise four criteria: investment outcomes, client reporting, relationship management and efficiency of service. Again, we’re always up against some big hitters in the investment management industry so winning this really means a lot to us. We’ll hear soon if we’ve been lucky enough to be shortlisted for the 2019 award.
Our other awards were judged on ARC statistical analysis of numbers, which led to us winning Best Overall Small Firm; Best Steady Growth and Best Aggressive at the Citywire Wealth Manager’s Investment Performance Awards 2018.
Positive feedback
The comments and feedback I and the team have received from people across all sectors of the industry since winning last week’s PA award have been exceptionally positive and heart-warming and we’ve been fielding many calls from potential new adviser partners who have realised that maybe we have something that could work for them.
I know a lot of work goes into running awards and, in true Oscar style, I’d like to thank Professional Adviser and Citywire Wealth Manager for making it possible for us to get public recognition that the work we do is making a difference to our adviser partners and, more importantly, their clients.
